Monday Liturgy Cancelled

Posted in Church Schedule Change on March 31, 2014 by readerjohn

Fr. Gregory made a mistake in scheduling the Liturgy for Monday March 31, as we are only to have Presanctified Liturgies on weekdays during Great Lent, with the exception of the Feast of the Annunciation.  So the Liturgy for Monday, for St. Mary of Egypt, is cancelled.

Construction progress, last week of March

The surveyors staked the site on Monday and Tuesday the 24th and 25th. As I write, some preliminary earth moving is expected Monday March 31.

We do not yet have a date projected for the next service at the site, but it will be posted as soon as possible.

All Services cancelled

Dear Ones in Christ,

With several inches of snow down, more still coming, not a plow in sight on side streets, and hourly forecasts apparently tricky, I think it best to cancel all Church Services today (Matins, Divine Liturgy and Forgiveness Vespers) at St Alexis, rather than run the risk of people getting into accidents coming and going to the Church.  We will keep an eye on things and let you know if there will be any changes in the schedule for Clean Monday.

Unworthy Priest,

Fr Gregory

Here’s an Order of Forgiveness Vespers to read and to make conscious effort to forgive all, just in case there’s no feasible way to incorporate tonight’s cancelled service into others this week.

Liturgy Cancelled – St. Alexis

Posted in Church Schedule Change on March 2, 2014 by readerjohn

With several inches down, snow still coming, not a plow in sight on side streets, and hourly forecasts apparently tricky, Father Gregory has decided to cancel Church rather than endangering people who might get in an accident coming or might be unable to get back home afterward.

Stay tuned about Forgiveness Vespers this evening.
