“Christian Themes in Harry Potter” talk at Purdue

You are invited to a talk on Christianity and Harry Potter by John Granger, the author of “Looking for God in Harry Potter,” at the Purdue OCF on Friday, February 15th! The talk will be at 6pm in room B061 of Armstrong Hall.
(To find B061, go down the stairs located in the big lobby/atrium on the Northwest end of Armstrong Hall.)

John Granger is a reader in the Orthodox church who has given hundreds of talks and written several books “explaining the artistry, meaning, and popularity of Joanne Rowling’s Harry Potter novels,” as well as other books of popular literature. He first made a name for himself arguing that the Harry Potter books “were Christian in conception and meaning” when many Christians had grave doubts about tales of magic and sorcery. (Quoted from his page at Orthodox Speakers Bureau.)

Please also consider whether you would be willing to help the OCF cover “the Hogwarts Professor”‘s speaking fee. We’ll be taking up a collection at St Alexis on Sunday, or you can contact the OCF at purdueOCF@gmail.com. $10 apiece from 10 helpful book lovers would get us a long way. Thanks!
